The Strand Theatre, Old Forge

This theatre is so beyond cool, and cheap af. Only $7 for a ticket! Make sure you get there early to check out all the old movie memorabilia… this place is littered with it!

This is the first theatre we have attended since COVID-19. It is just glorious inside, and customer service is excellent. We drove from Fort Drum to see a movie with our son, and was well worth the trip! We will be going back soon, and often!

I have been going to this theater for years! Even though I just want to be outside all the time in the Adirondacks, it's a nice option to have during inclement weather... It's an older theater that lacks a lot of the "modern day comforts" but that to me is what makes it more charming... They have all these really old nostalgic movie cameras and pictures and things on display which just further adds to it's charm... The people there are always friendly and welcoming and like I said even though I'd much rather be outside all the time, enjoying the amazing natural one of kind beauty that is the Adirondacks, they're a great rainy day option that can still make you feel just happy to be up in the ADK's...

This theater was built in 1923, and was bought in 1991 by Bob Card and Helen Zyma, and lovingly restored to its former grandeur! We go at least 1ce a year, as we live abt 2hrs away. The prices are low, $6 per person, snacks are yummy, real popcorn with real butter! The place is much cleaner than chain theaters, and the whole place is an homage to the history of movies, with ancient cameras, projectors, and other equipment on display. Bob and Helen are friendly outgoing ppl who will happily tell you about any object that catches your eye. Truly it and they are a jewel in the crown of the Adirondacks. :)

This place is so cool. My new favorite theater with some of the best popcorn I’ve ever had. Owner and staff are very friendly as well. Feels like home.
