Hat Creek Rim Overlook, Old Station

You will miss it if you arent paying attention but offers sweeping panoramic views of both the Mt Lassen range and the Mt Shasta range. Worth a turnout if headed to the falls or lakes in the area

Nature always gets five stars, of course! This is a perfect place to stop and stretch, and gawk at nature's beauty. Only a short, easy, paved drive off the main road. Easily accessible for differently-abled people.

Great view of the Hat Creek region and surrounding mountains. On a clear day Mt Shasta looms to the north and Mt Lassen to the south. It's a great spot to take a long or short hike on the Pacific Crest trail. Be sure to carry plenty of water if you go for a hike. Carry extra if you have a dog with you. Water is not readily available on this section of trail. The look out has bench's, restroom and pull through parking for vehicles with trailers.

I probably got lucky and hit this spot on perfect day. 73, sunny, slight breeze and clear skies. Wish I would have brought food fo a picnic. They have a few picnic tables with amazing views.

I love this spot. It has a wife sweeping view of Hat Creek Valley, and you can really see the affects Hat Creek burn. Great views valley My Shasta, Burney Mountain, Sugarloaf Peak and Lassen Peak in the distance. The signs at the viewpoint are nice and descriptive. I've been here several times while passing through, and always love it.
