Ruby Beach is the northernmost of the southern beaches in the coastal section of Olympic National Park in the U.S. state of Washington. It is located on Highway 101, in Jefferson County, 27 miles (43 km) south of the town of Forks.

Like virtually all beaches on the northern coast, Ruby Beach has a tremendous amount of driftwood. It is notable for the number of sea stacks there.

The beach is so called because of the ruby-like crystals in the beach sand.
Destruction Island is located about 4 miles southwest off the beach. The island and the Destruction Island Lighthouse can be seen from the beach.

Beautiful beach lots of drift wood step hill to get down to the beach but worth the short hike . Try to time it to get there at low tide as there are supposed to be good tide pools we missed them but.... more

Today was a PERFECT day to visit Ruby Beach! The sun shone and the number of visitors was about 12!! Go on a weekday if you can. It is a perfect place to let your kids run off some steam, take some photos, get your toes wet in the surf, and collect beautiful rocks and make cairns. Ruby Beach is one of my favorite places on the earth, and it is close to my MOST favorite place, the Hoh Rainforest. The air here is SO PRISTINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME HERE EVEN IF IT IS ONLY TO BREATHE!!!!!!!!

Large, beautiful beach. Like the rest of my trip in Washington, it was raining. It all just adds some additional character to the pictures. Although, I feel like I could visit again and have an all-new experience. The beach is rocky, so I'm not sure it would be fun during the summer. Wear comfortable shoes!

This is one of the most wonderful nature destinations that I've experienced, world-class along with the Grand Canyon. The path down to the beach is less than a quarter mile and is well-maintained. There was plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon. Staying in Ocean Shores, we drove 90 minutes north to Ruby Beach. On the way, the Kalaloch Lodge is another great place to take pictures. The convenience store there has a good selection of lunch foods. There are picnic tables available and the coffee is good.
