  • I saw this museum listed when I checked out James Madison home in Orange Virginia. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well done this museum is. The woman volunteere at the front desk gave me a short tour through the rooms and explained each and pointed out what I considered the best objects. Almost all items are original. I loved the bed and chair of president Taylor. An original house from 1733 was moved into the museum.
  • We were on a presidential trip and this was easily the best stop. The Manager was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They also were the only facility in the area that offered a military discount. Bravo
  • We had an outstanding tour led by the very knowledgeable and friendly museum director. The museum boasts a large number of artifacts from the 18th and 19th century. There is a beautiful large charcoal-etched mural worth seeing.
  • Hidden gem, but one that's a must see. It's not a big space, but there is a lot in it. It's engaging and interesting. The volunteer (forgot to get her name) was kind, helpful, and knew what she was talking about. We spent a couple hours in the museum. I didn't think we would be there that long, but I am very glad we did. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area.
  • Excellent find for information about James Madison! The museum curator was an excellent source of knowledge!
