The O.Z. Tyler Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky has a storied past dating back to the late 1800s. The 25-acre distillery site last produced whiskey in 1993 as the Medley Distillery and then laid dormant until it was purchased by the Terressentia Corporation in 2014. After extensive renovations, the distillery was renamed for O.Z. “Ty” Tyler, co-inventor of the TerrePURE® process, which we use to refine our bourbon after it has been barrel-aged.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Green River Distilling Co. by using our Owensboro trip app.

This was great tour! We had never done any distillery tour, so I'm glad we chose this one to be our first one. The bar has been set high! Our tour guide was awesome too. Unfortunately I can't remember his name to save my life (he used to work at Disney. If Green River replies with his name, I'll update this review to include it), but he was great. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I really had no idea what it took to make Bourbon before this tour, but now I have a new found appreciation for it. I highly recommend this tour if you're out in Western Kentucky. And even if you're not, make this the reason to go. *Edit* Green River Distillery has replied with our tour guide's name. His name is Grant. I'm not sure if you can request specific people to be your guide, but if you can, request him. He was amazing.

We have been doing the bourbon tour for a couple of years now and this was one of our best ones. The history and tour guide was awesome. Sorry I can’t remember the young man’s name but he made it great even though it was 20deg outside. We left with 3 bottles. It’s warm now.

My husband and I are trying to complete every distillery on the bourbon tour and so far this one has been our favorite! Wes was our tour guide and did a great job. He was super knowledgeable and could answer any question you had about Green River and the bourbon making process. Well worth the price of the tour, free tasting, free shot glass, and a cute little pen all included. And of course the bourbon was great too!

This was our first Distillery tour ever! And being that we are not much a fan of the bourbon we loved it! This place has so much history that makes it more interesting, Our Tour guide Taylor was amazing. Definitely it’s worth the time. Highly recommended!!!! We’ll be back !!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My wife and I have toured many distilleries in Kentucky as well as around the world. The visit to Green River Distilling was among the best. I was unfamiliar with the distillery other than the O. Z. Tyler Bourbon which is (sadly) no longer produced. However, Green River produces a variety of excellent spirits on-site using locally grown corn. Our guide was well informed and patient with all of our questions. After tasting the samples at the end of the tour, we took several bottles of Yellow Bank, Kentucky 10 and Quarter Horse home with us to share with friends.
