  • This was a fantastic place to visit. It is a free museum of local history. Everything there has been donated, and the people who work there are volunteers. When we went, an older lady was working with her husband. She took the time to take both my kids and I through the entire museum and explain all the rooms and displays. It was a fantastic experience. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back. I highly recommend it!
  • If most people don't know there's a legend here. It use to be a train station. The magnitude of this building and structure has been well preserved
  • Lamar County Historical Museum is the "L" at the south end of Heritage hall. It seems like ๐Ÿฆ Narnia โ† Bigger on the inside than on the outside โ†œ. You walk into a big rectangular display room โ–Œw/ more recent historical subject matter, followed by an octagonal ๐Ÿ›‘ portal to themed rooms, & finally to a huge square room โฌœ, complete w/ log cabin & artifacts necessary to19th century (1800's) living. The museum is non-profit & manned by volunteers. It's chock-full of alluring history & could fascinate me for hours. ๐Ÿˆ My favorite exhibit in the 1st room was the Gene Stallings area, but it's only one of many captivating schemes. ๐Ÿ›‘ My favorite themed rooms accessed from the octagonal portal were the black history panoramas. โฌœ Lastly, having the enjoyment from & unique insight of my guide thru โ…” 's of the museum, we enter the huge back room w/ 100's of 19th century daily life-artifacts & a log cabin. I was amazed. โœ… Give Lamar County Historical Museum a try & find Your favorite exhibits... ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿค  โ›ช
