Create an itinerary including Rodin Museum
Rodin Museum houses the world's second largest collection of famous sculptor Auguste Rodin's works--the largest one outside of Paris. Opened in 1929, it was a gift to the city of Philadelphia from Jules Mastbaum, a movie-theater magnate and an avid collector of Rodin's works. The famous Thinker sits in the museum garden in front of the entrance. Once inside, you can see masterpieces like the Gates of Hell, inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy; the Kiss; the Burghers of Calais; and many others. Take time to view many lesser-known works, as well as prints, studies, castings, drawings, and Rodin's personal items. Make Rodin Museum a part of your Philadelphia vacation plans using our Philadelphia trip planner.

  • We were a bit surprised how few pieces were here, and what was here we found underwhelming. The best pieces are actually outside. We thought the $12 suggested ticket price was steep for what you...

  • A great collection of Rodins There was enough variety to make it interesting and good to see more than his famous and well recognized sculptures

  • I didn't plan to visit here because I didn't have enough time to visit. Every time I walk to Philadelphia Museum of Art I had to pass this one and it was so tempting to see inside. Since it was free to visit because I had a admission ticket to Philadelphia Museum of Art, I gave it a try. I spent 1 and a half hour and was able to see everything in here. They have amazing collection with nicely done galleries, a beautiful garden with a fountain. I highly recommend to visit here even though you have less than 30 mins. You will be able to give yourself a quick tour to hear and still enjoy this museum.
  • Didn't make it inside, but wanted to leave a comments about the gorgeous outdoors! The reflecting pond by the Garden Bar was jaw dropping. The beds were full of gorgeous blooming plants the doubled beautifully in the reflecting pool. Combined with the architecture, this spot is perfect for photos and inspiration!
  • I just adore this museum! It's small and you can pay what you want. Rodin's art is so expressive - I love his faces and hands. I almost enjoyed this more than the big art museum down the road. It's pay as you wish - suggested is $12 per adult. I paid $10 and somehow that got me into the big museum too, so it might be worth stopping here first! I might have stumbled on a special day (or a confused admissions person) but usually, what you pay at Rodin, they will take off the ticket at the big museum. Or if you buy admission there first, the Rodin is included. I think it's not to be missed and perfectly bite-sized for days when four massive floors of art is just too much.
  • Best collection of Rodin works, outside of Paris! (I have been to both) This is the mini version well done and worth a look! You pay what you wish and the $ can be taken off a same day trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Unique gift shop.
  • Super cool little museum with August Rodin’s collection which was a great surprise to find here👍🏼🤘🏻👏. Tickets can be combined with Arts Museum- great perk👍🏼. Inside you can find Eternal spring and copy of The kiss. There is also famous Honore de Balzac’s head.
