Create an itinerary including Spouting Horn
Local Hawaii legend speaks of Spouting Horn and its ocean blowhole on Kauai's south shore. Formed by a combination of volcanic lava rocks and erosion from crashing waves, the spout represents the home of a mythical and angry lizard. Waves funneled into the small opening in the rock shelf can blast as far as 15 m (50 ft) into the air from the mouth of the blowhole, spraying the surrounding area. You can take photos of the spout from the nearby viewpoint with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Keep in mind that this force of nature can be dangerous; remain behind the guard rails and obey all posted signs. • We have been to Kauai many times and always love to watch The Spouting Horn. It is such a wonder of nature not seen in most states.

  • Probably a bit less impressive than the hype, but worth a quick stop if you’re in the area - particularly if you have younger kids.

  • We have been using the APP gypsy tours for Kauai and this was a stop they mentioned and it’s well worth it. The legend described by our gypsy tour guide was pretty cool too. Definitely mesmerizing.

  • Beautiful drive out to the spot, lots of available parking, restrooms (although they are of the public park variety), and spectacular views. We observed the water spout and also saw some whales. The quintessential Kauai experience!
  • Beautiful location!! Water spouts were impressive this time of year (December)! I would visit again and you can spot a few sea turtles if you are lucky!
  • Nice place with rest rooms and picnic benches. Lots of roosters around for kids to get excited about. The spouting horn makes good horn noise, the spouting depends on waves sometimes it is pretty big sometimes it is small. So stick around for few minutes to experience large and small fountains.
  • Spouting Horn is a Beautiful Location. Multiple Blow Holes.
  • Beautiful location. Small park with amazing views and restrooms. You can sometimes see sea turtles and spotted eagle rays here.
