  • BEAUTIFUL Park ~ I have been here twice this year. Once walking and this time by bike. Highly recommend taking a bike - Mountain bike or wide tire comfort works very well. We have Specialized Rolls which are perfect for this trail. A must see place for sure. The tree covered canopy makes for a great shady ride or walk. The speed of the bikes keeps the mosquitos off you. I will be back multiple times here. So far my favorite place in the area
  • This is my local hiking trail. It’s has several different length options but all are family friendly and easy terrain. Yellow is the shortest and most popular trail, its worth the short walk with gorgeous views and large pieces of drift wood on the beachside. Red is the longest and has a nice picnic bench tucked away from the more popular trails. Blue has an amazing marsh area where we have seen hawks, otters, and even an alligator. Watch out for ticks!
  • Great place to hike and soak up the natural beauty! Walked the yellow trail (parts were shaded) and carried our picnic lunch with us - nice tables along the river for lunch at the half way point. Bathrooms at the trailhead and drinking water too. Saw people fishing, birding, kayaking - and saw squirrels, armadillo, great egret and wood storks!
  • This is a great park with a lot of trails. The entrance has boat ramps and lots of people were fishing along the shore. It would be a great place to kayak but I would not go swimming in this area (the beach is next door anyway. The trails are great for running or biking and apparently they do have hunting (though I have no details concerning hunting). I went there specifically to check out the trails. The savannah trail was flooded in spots so I was not able to explore it all but for the most part the scenery and expanse was just what my soul needed.
  • Our favorite quick getaway! We live in the historic downtown area, and right now its very crowded with the Nights of Lights. Just a few miles away at Guana, we feel like we are in a different world! Lovely shaded walking paths with lots of wildlife for those with a sharp eye. Its bike friendly and pet friendly (6ft leash.) Its $3 for admission, bring exact change. Drive past the fishing areas and boat launch. The walking paths are at the very end of the driving area. Shaded picnic area, restrooms and a spigot for water for your dog. Step into another world of wild Live Oaks and Spanish Moss.
