Catawba Island State Park, Port Clinton

A small day use state park that is mostly used for launching boats. But there is a very large pier to fish off of and a pavilion that can be rented out. The pavilion is very large and could accommodate a large group. There is a rocky beach next to the pavilion. I don't believe you are allowed to swim... but it provides an excellent spot for walking along the water and taking pictures. There is a small playground close by and plenty of picnic tables located in the shade of the numerous trees. There is also a well maintained restroom close to the picnic tables. Although this is primarily a boat launch park, the playground and picnic tables will provide a nice break on a hot day. And finally, the parking area a very large to allow for many boat trailers to park in!

My wife and I decided to go on a weekend getaway to the shores of Lake Erie and the first place we stopped was Catawba Island State Park. The sun was warm and a pleasant breeze danced with the gentle waves as it caressed the waters surface. We found ourselves mesmerized by the rolling waves as they splashed against the shore. We also found it interesting watching various sized boats as the skipped across the lake. All in all it has been a pleasant day.

Boat ramp with plenty of free parking. There is a shelter for picnics. The shore is lined with stones and provides an excellent view of Lake Erie, but there is no swimming. The park has a modern restroom.

Catawba Island...its been 30 years. Sents I lived there... missing lake Erie sunsets.

One of the most beautiful sunsets in my life🥰😍😌really nice area with picnic tables in the shade and across the road near the beach. There is also a little room for smaller fishing boats to come back and take off with a wide pier you can walk or sit admiring the view
