  • This was absolutely one of the best experiences of our lives. The boat was comfortable, the food was good, including the homemade blueberry buckle. The whole cabin smelled delicious when we got on board. The captain and his naturalist on board provided great commentary about landmarks as well as wildlife. We saw humpback whales and it was so cool to watch them blow and dive. We stayed out a little longer than planned due to such a great encounter. After my 8-year-old grandson (who didn't want to go because he was afraid of boats) saw the video I took, he said he wants to go with us next time. So, we are already planning a trip for next spring! Thanks for such a wonderful time.
  • Recently moved to WA and treated myself to the 4 hour tour out of Port Townsend. I booked for a Monday but as they didn't have enough people, staff rescheduled me for Tuesday. Quick and responsive emails Great experience! Knowledgeable naturalist on board and the Captain was super patient as we head up to Canada- eventually we found a pod of humpback whales. Captain was great in observing proper distance, unlike some of the other vessels around that just barreled in. It was amazing experience. Will definitely go again and hope next time will see some orcas. Highly recommend this tour. And yes, definitely order the blueberry buckle-very tasty- and also the boxed lunch.
  • The best tour wildlife company. They guarantee whale sighting and if you happen to be unlucky they will provide you a voucher. They were professional and very personable. This was our family's second try to spot whales. Their boat is clean and comfortable with heat, they are very knowledgeable about the wildlife, they provide coffee and a few snacks. And most important we were able to see orcas and other wildlife. We were extremely lucky to see them breach which was amazing experience we will never forget.
  • We took the 4 hour Gray Whale tour out of Port Townsend today and it was an amazing experience! The Captain and crew were professional, attentive and affable. I felt very safe in their company. They knew exactly where to take us to see 2 gray whales (and a 3rd whale, further away) feeding along a stretch of shoreline. Such huge and majestic creatures, they are! Tony, the onboard biologist and guide was very approachable and knowledgeable. Plenty of room on the outside of the vessel for everyone to get great photos/vantage points. Highly recommend the blueberry coffee cake and boxed lunch. Parking was a breeze this time of year but in the busy season I would recommend giving yourself plenty of extra time to find parking near the marina. I highly recommend this experience and can't wait to do it again. Thank you for the swell time Puget Sound Express crew!
  • Great fun. Enjoyed the staff. Early on, I was skeptical. I was afraid that the dorsal fins were going to be our sightings. But to watch various family groups play . . . .and then I got a picture of an orca in front of the Seattle skyline. It was an awesome day. BTW, it was an exceptionally smooth ride. I was worried about seasickness after a few experiences in the Gulf of Mexico. This was so smooth and very enjoyable.
