D.G. Yuengling and Son Brewery, Pottsville

If you're a history lover, this is for you. If you're a beer lover, this is for you too. If you're like me and you love both, then this is a must-see and is well worth the trip. The tour is informative and fun and our tour guide, Kim, was an absolute delight. Getting a peak of the day to day operation of America's oldest brewery was fascinating and the free beer tastings at the end of the free tour was the cherry on top of a great day. We even had the pleasure of meeting and briefly speaking with Mr. Yuengling himself (thanks again to Kim for letting us know he was around). I know they say to never meet your heroes, but he was an absolute gentleman and really made the experience special for us. I will definitely make the trip to Pottsville again to visit this brewery.

Yuengling Traditional Lager is my favorite beer. My wife and I toured this brewery on our honeymoon and it was an awesome experience. The brewing is mostly done in underground caves connected by tunnels. We toured the brewery as well as sampled some beers some of which were not not available yet in stores, like their mango beer. They incredible beer but unfortunately it is not sold where I live. When one of my siblings visits from back East they always bring Yuengling with them, as I, my dad, and brother all love their beer. The Yuengling brewery is the oldest brewery in the US and fun fact, before the Prohibition, they used to have a large tap somewhere on the side of the brewery where locals would come and could get as much beer as they wanted for free. Totally worth checking this brewery out if you are in the area, and don't forget to try their beer. My wife bought me a Yuengling baseball cap from the gift shop when we were there in Nov. 2020, and I still wear it every day. I have lots of people in my area recognize the name and ask where I got the hat.

America's oldest brewery has one of the best brewery tours that I've been in anywhere in the country. As a displaced Pennsylvanian Yuengling Lager pulls on my nostalgic heart strings so it was fun to come and see where the beer of my youth was made. If you love beer history this is a tour for you!

Definitely interesting place to visit. So much history. Amazing to walk through the old brewery. Please don't sell out to anyone...keep it family owned. I'll do my part and keep supporting..🍺🍻🍺🍺🍻
