Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint, is a state park south of the community of Prospect on Oregon Route 62 in Jackson County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It was formerly known as Mill Creek Falls Scenic Area, a private hiking area that was developed by Willamette Industries along the Rogue River. Both Mill Creek Falls and Pearsony Falls are contained within the area, with Barr Creek Falls close by.For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Prospect holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Mill Creek Falls and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
A hydroelectric dam was built in the 1920s which drained the narrow valley containing the group of falls. A group of large boulders appeared. These have become a local attraction known as the Avenue of the Giant Boulders.

Nice peaceful short hike to see two falls. It was great that were flowing good in September. Not always the case with waterfalls in the fall. Worth a stop.

The trails here were a little harder to decipher. Lots of shortcuts, but they all led to the overlooks. The falls are across a canyon so you can't get very close but the views are amazing. A little...

Absolutely stunning falls! The trail to the falls is easy and pretty short, you can hear them from the parking area. And even though it's not a long hike, it's gorgeous and so worth the drive. I could sit and watch and listen to the roaring of the falls for days. Perfect serenity. And if you're feeling like getting a bite to eat after, just continue up Hwy 62 to Beckie's Cafe for a perfect slice of pie or whatever suits your fancy 😉

Pretty neat place. I visited in August it was very dry and pretty hot. The falls are a short walk from the parking lot with a very easy slope. The view is across a canyon so you can't make it to the bottom. The avenue of boulders was worth the little walk as well

Always a treat when I stop here. Few places offer such an array of scenic views, history, and natural wonders in a short hike like Mill Creek Falls and The Avenue of Boulders. There are views from further back as well as lots of daredevil vantage and photography points. The boulders and river rapids can sooth a frantic soul while the double dose of mammoth falls humbles the viewer. The hike has moderate steep sections and some stone stair steps to navigate.

Absolutely stunning waterfall. Not crowded. Well marked off the highway, nice paved parking lot with large map/sign. Trails are well marked and groomed. I love how various types of trees are identified with name markers. The trail is easy, very little elevation gain. Parts were muddy. Mill Creek Falls is 173'. The viewpoint is perfect, allowing top to bottom views.

Absolutely breathtaking. When you first get done to the trail you can go left that takes you to the Avenue Boulders or you go right that takes you over to the waterfall and we spent her whole time over at the Avenue Boulders we were there until evening time fell... next time the falls!
