  • This out-of-the-way attraction is an incredible look into the past. Just $5 per car, you're a half mile walk away from 800+ year old petroglyphs. Pay attention to the hours, as this attraction does close fairly early in the day. A very knowledgeable tour guide is waiting at the petroglyphs to explain their history and meaning.
  • We went for the winter solstice event. To stand in front of that cliff with all the petroglyphs and see the sun play out its movement across that ancient surface was amazing. The commentary explaining what was happening was very informative. A terrific place to visit
  • Easy hike to incredibly preserved petroglyphs over 13 rock panels, the largest collection in the area. Knowledgeable park service staff spoke about the ancient tribes, the meanings of the carvings, and the current tribal issues. Don't forget to check out the visitor center for detailed maps to other locations.

  • Many thanks to the cheery crew this Monday morning for my first-thing, post-holiday, happenstance, first-ever visit! I’d read a touch of Ken Zoll (there on Saturdays!) but never seen the real McCoy, until now (but for Mr. Zoll I’ll have to wait ;) Most especially for Don the Docent who walked me down the path onto many fresh insights and views with great details and photos and books that really broadened my horizons, just like a sun glyph or two or three or... !!!!
