Beautiful in any season of the year, whether full of fellow garden admirers or nearly empty of guest. Also has a very nice restaurant, gift and helpful staff.

Beautiful time to go see this garden. Worth the drive! The vibrant colors of the leaves starts from the parking lot. Gorgeous place to just take your time and breathe in nature. Restaurant was ok. Regular restaurant. I wish they would up the Japanese experience with getting more authentic food. But still good I definitely recommend making a reservation. And they accommodate gluten free allergies.
We visited on the last weekend of October and had a wonderful time. The grounds were well-maintained and there was lots to see and experience. The map was helpful since it was our first visit. There are frequent benches and seating areas which makes the route as peaceful and restful as you want it to be. We spent about an hour and half strolling the gardens. I will say, drinks at the coffee bar near the restaurant were super overpriced and serves in an unprofessional way, but everything else was top notch!
Love this place, they even have little sections where you can take photos. Its breathtaking and gorgeous. Got some neat pictures with my fiancé and my brother. We chose this location because it sounded cool and it was amazing! Ive only met my brother twice and I am so glad that me and him got to see this place as one of our meet ups!!! 💗
I was searching for a nature center to take my kids to and I read that someone had posted on our nextdoor app that the Anderson Japanese nature center is a beautiful place to visit. I looked it up, it's in Rockford. I took my kids the next day and it was worth the drive. Beautiful scenery. You can feed the geese's, fishes, and ducks. There's a beautiful waterfall also. My adult daughter who has autism enjoyed the nature center very much. It's so peaceful and quiet. If you love to meditate then this is the place to be. If you love nature centers like we do, then this one is perfect. Adults pay 11 dollars for entrance fee and if you have a child and he or she is a student they pay 9 dollars. It's worth it. Go and experience it yourself. You won't be disappointed. Address is 318 Spring Creek Rd, Rockford IL 61107
Beautiful and serene with so many little 'moments' to stop and take in the environment and well manicured landscapes and water features. Also, the gift shop has a well curated assortment of lovely items. We will definitely be back next year!
