The waterfront neighborhood of Pickering Wharf represents a variety of charming stores, cafes, and restaurants. You can search for souvenirs at its antique stores, independent boutiques, galleries, and gift shops before stopping for a drink or bite to eat overlooking the water. Those who don't like to shop can simply enjoy observing the activity of the harbor and its collection of boats. Don't miss an impressive replica of the Friendship Schooner, a 1800s trading ship that is docked here. To visit Pickering Wharf and other attractions in Salem, use our Salem road trip website.

  • This area is close to The House of the Seven Gables and is also a stop on the Salem Trolley tour. There are several places to eat and some unusual independent shops.

  • Beautiful breezy Sunday to walk down the grassy promontory to the lighthouse. Small beach with shells nearby. Historic Salem ship docked there was interesting.
  • This is a great place to stop by and see the ocean while in Salem. It's very walkable, has lots of good restaurants and fun shops. It also has some historic sites relating to the marina.
  • Beautiful place. Holds lots of events
  • Lovely place and great view
  • Maui Mother's Day cruise was wonderful. Had a 4 piece band playing. This trip made for a wonderful Mother's Day. Felt like finally a normal activity. Loved it.
