  • I hesitate to review this place because I selfishly don't want want more people to know about it. Absolutely wonderful. Yes, it's smaller than done of the resorts in summit county, but more than makes up for it. Fantastic runs, incredibly friendly staff, free parking (and you can actually walk to the lifts from the parking lot), affordable lift tickets, and reasonable wait times at the lifts (and on some weekdays, no wait time at all!). My family will definitely be returning.
  • Great place for great skiing, without the huge lines of larger corporate resorts! Nice variety of terrain for all skill levels. Would be even better if the double lifts had foot rests and there was at least a tow line to the top of Mirkwood. The food quality was a bit poor also and costly, and we were eating at the Saloon. Otherwise, parking was easy and we had fun!
  • We love Monarch. We don't ski often, and we are coming from CO Springs. It's an easy drive and much more layer back with fewer crowds compared to the other destinations. The staff is absolutely great. Danny Gardner gave my family lessons more than once and was patient and kind throughout the experience. Highly recommend for all ages.
  • Beautiful place! We went the first weekend of April 2022. Monarch is an absolute beautiful place. Without including the two kids slopes, there are 64 runs for all levels (green, blue, black and double black). It was my first time snowboarding here and it took me by surprise the steepness of the runs. If you are a beginner, stay in the kids runs until you feel 120% comfortable of your ski/snowboard skills. The food at the restaurant/bar was hot and good. They have a variety of beers on tap, all great options. We did not encounter snow on the highway, which made our trip more pleasant. I recommend this place!
  • Always an amazing place to go. Definitely great to take beginners and kids. Lots of easy runs. I always enjoy going at the beginning of the season to get my legs back under me before going to some of the other mountains i enjoy boarding . Planning to hopefully make another trip to monarch in Jan.
