Sugar House Park, Salt Lake City

Caught the sunrise here one day and loved it, very peaceful. I visited at the end of September so the weather was still nice. It’s a one way road in most of the park as a heads up. Lots of places to pull over and hang out and enjoy the scenery. Gets quite busy.

Beautiful mountain views. Accessible park with one way traffic loop. Lots of pavilions and places to eat or BBQ. There is an outer unpaved trail to run or main road. Dog, bike, pedestrian, and runner friendly. Good sledding in the winter. Basketball courts and playgrounds for kids. One of the best SLC parks, feels safer than most too.

1 in 10 Dog Owners here at this park allow their dogs to roam free & the park rules are not enforced by anyone! It makes it miserable for those of us who leash our dogs 🐕. Someone needs to enforce the park rules here & give out tickets. People feel entitled like the rules don't apply to them. I wonder how quickly they would enforce the park rules if people were running around naked & drinking? I mean Utah has its standards. This is a beautiful community park however.

This park is a nice city park to have right around the corner! It doesn't have as much tree cover as other parks in SLC (i.e. Liberty Park), but is pretty open. I tend to walk my dog here most days in the spring-fall. A nice walking section of the road (almost 1.5 mile loop) and nice views of the pond and the mountains. Usually a fair amount of people around playing with dogs, ultimate frisbee, kickball, or other activities. It also has a small community garden (that I'm not sure how to use). Definitely recommend.

Picture Postcard Vistas everywhere Beautiful park to have a lovely walk and experience the winter wonderland. There are many pleasant views of the mountains and there is a large lake with different birds wading. It is about a mile and half loop. Not only can you get your steps in but you can walk amongst so much beauty. Would definitely recommend visiting if you have never been.
