The 809 hectares (2,000 acres) of Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve make up one of the wildest stretches of land on the southern Californian coast. The state park offers eight different trails so you can choose the length, difficulty, and scenery that suit you best. For the most diverse scenery, take the Guy Fleming trail, the easiest of the eight. Animal lovers can look for bobcats, foxes, rabbits, and even whales off the coast in some seasons. To enjoy a picnic, you need to head to the beach below via the beach trail because the park forbids food and drink other than water. Bring plenty of water with you; you cannot buy any here. This is a beautiful park and there are docents who can answer your questions and advise on hikes. Be sure to spend some time looking at the interesting plants. There is a small, but nice gift shop.

We took our family that just flew in from Germany to take in these beautiful views. They loved it. A lot of people where there. The views are stunning. Weather wise was perfect for the hike. Parking is $25 and the line seemed to move extremely slow. But it’s definitely worth going. But I believe there is parking outside if you are lucky and patient enough to keep driving around.

This state Park is amazing, never gets old. I don't mind paying a $20 fee to park at the gate, well worth it. Great customer service, clean trail, clean beach and plenty restroom... Loll... Please note, no dogs aloud, but again it is a great experience... A little over 2 miles if you take the beach pathway or over 4 miles if you decide to walk up to the beach then go back up towards "the road" or Torrey pines lodge. They have done an incredible job by adding a new trail and fixing the stairs going down the beach. 5 star hike by the water.

One of the most amazing spots in San Diego County with beautiful trails and stunning views. Watch the most spectacular sunsets, while dolphins are chasing the waves below. Intricate sandstone shapes created by the water and wind give this park a unique charm and the indigenous plants and flowers are an attraction of their own. Walk all the way down to the beach and enjoy the waive-carved colorful rocks. To avoid paying for parking and admission, park across from the golf course and walk to the park. Portable toilets are available and are always kept nice and clean. Don't leave San Diego without visiting Torrey Pines!

Torrey Pines State Reserve has some of my favorite hiking near San Diego proper. The landscape is amazing with the vast amounts of erosion and shrubs in the area surrounding the beach. I love taking the west overlook and taking the trails down to the beach from exploring in that area. Get there early since parking fills up fast. This is a great place for a quick day hike!

It’s beyond beautiful!! You should definitely pay the $20 parking fee and drive to the top to begin your journey. There are about six trails and I hiked all of them. Spent about three hours with a good workout and amazing fun! Highly recommend if you’re nearby.
