Located in Golden Gate Park, the center offers the world’s only combined aquarium, planetarium, rainforest, and living museum. I usually enjoy Science and Natural history museums but this one was a bit boring. The interactivity was lacking and there were so many noisy kids I had trouble enjoying myself.

This is a wonderful area to visit. Beautiful grounds and you can do as much or as little as you want.

I appreciate the masking policy given guests stay there for over an hour to tour the museum. I love this place -- it is well maintained! I had been here over 8 years ago and 4 years ago and back...

General admission is about 30-35 bucks if you have student ID and other applicable discounts. I think the price is fair for what they offer. We bought the VIP tour with private access to the Living Roof to actually see the animal bones that were in the process of being “cleaned” by other little creatures. We got to see collected specimens (huge collection!). I didn’t know about ichthyology until then so it was great if you are interested in science or fish. We didn’t take much advantage of the VIP access as they came with great benefits such as discounts at the restaurant and souvenir stores I believe, but skip-the-line and entrances to the GEM vault or other collections were worth it. And it’s only like $25 per person for the VIP tour. However, I have to be honest that I did expect a bit more out of the VIP tour, and for general admissions: I do wish the planetarium’s image quality to be a bit better, but that’s okay. We’ll come back sometimes when they have new stuffs.

my absolute favorite museum i have ever been to. the butterfly exhibit was extraordinary and i loved being able to experience the planetarium show. the jellyfish were absolutely mesmerizing and i appreciated the diversity in sea life. the aquarium was great and i loved seeing the alligator. great for kids and adults. plenty to see, do, and learn.

This great place inside the Golden Gate Park was about a 40 minutes bus ride from the Fisherman’s Wharf (North Point St and Jones St) to Park Presidio Blvd and Fulton St. and a 10 minute walk from the bus stop. Although the Planetarium was closed during our visit, there were so many exhibits to see. Be prepared to walk and therefore wear comfortable shoes. The African penguins, the large aquarium and the rain forest dome teeming with butterflies and three tropical birds were amazing. The albino alligator and three huge turtles were probably over fed since they never moved while we were there. It’s a place worth to visit.

Wow! Just wow! No words to describe the museum. I was awestruck the first time I went inside. Everything was beautiful and amazing. I just didn't want to leave that place. I felt like a kid again, seeing the penguins, the live aquarium, the sharks exhibit (no real sharks though, but you can see their teeth and all), albino crocodile, the rainforest(loved this one), natural history museum and many more. You have a lot to do at this place. And people of all ages can enjoy here. Seriously, hear me out, if you come to San Francisco, do visit this place, you don't wanna miss this one.

This was a fun aquarium/science center that focused more on biology than other areas like energy or spaces. We went in their first ticketed group at 9:30am and it felt like we had the aquarium to ourselves. 90 minutes later it felt very busy in the museum so I recommend getting there early.
