Built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, Palace of Fine Arts Theatre was one of the only constructions kept intact after the world fair. Locals were so impressed with the architecture, they campaigned to preserve the structure. Take in the elegant rotunda, the Greek-style colonnades, and the lagoon, where you can see a clear reflection of the building. Here you can relax in the company of swans, ducks, geese, turtles, and frogs. The palace hosts a variety of art exhibits, concerts, films, and theatrical performances throughout the year. Beautiful place! The architecture is worth the time to walk the trail and check it out. Many interesting birds along the way also. We passed many families getting their photos taken and people walking their pups. Would be a very nice place to visit if you have mobility issues because of the sidewalk. Parking was pretty easy to find. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area.

This place is absolutely picturesque! It is a beautiful and must place to visit if you are in San Francisco. It's Roman architecture and the pond located in front of the Palace adds to its beauty. Although it is a small location you would not regret coming here at least once. A great way to spend either a morning or afternoon stroll, sunset. palace of fine arts has great lighting and it looks majestic from everywhere around, walk it to enjoy each corner and admire this architecture style that enhances the magic of SF. It has a quiet and beautiful atmosphere. A great spot to take great photos and is easily accessible!

Such a gorgeous park and structure. There was so much detail put into the art of this structure. The surrounding lake and park add to the beauty. Definitely would love to go back and have a picnic there. We saw a couple different wedding parties taking pictures there, can definitely see why. It's gorgeous all around. We didn't go in. We parked in the neighborhood, there was free parking but didn't see an actual parking lot.

It wasn’t something we had suggested to us, but we decided to check it out after we saw it from a distance. It was really incredible. Great place for photos of any kind. Recommend visiting this place.

Beautiful views, a large pond and large pillar sculptures in a relaxing park-like atmosphere for everyone to enjoy for free. A must visit if you are visiting the Golden gate bridge and have 30 minutes to relax. There is a good amount of parking available close to the center. Nice place to get pictures taken, including wedding pictures.
