Walt Disney Family Museum presents the life, work, and legacy of Walt Disney, from his early childhood until today. In a 4,000 sq m (43,000 sq ft) space, using old and new technology, the family's collection showcases drawings, animations, movies, and music. In the lobby are 248 awards Disney earned, among which are the Presidential Medal of Freedom--the highest civilian award of the United States--and the Oscar for the movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves." See the 3.7 m (12 ft) in diameter model of Disneyland, and watch Disney classics in the "Fantasia"-inspired digital theater. Make sure you have some energy left for the Disneyland exhibit at the end. • What a great place. I spent 4 hours there and it was a fantastic time. They reminded me of all the Disney movies I watched when I was a child. Beautiful interior, great exhibits. From the entrance, I felt that I had moved into a different world, a fairy-tale world, a world full of magic. To this day, I have chills. The service and atmosphere were great and you could see everyone around was delighted too. I recommend it very much.
  • This review is mostly for the Jungle Book Exhibit. The Jungle Book exhibit is in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall which is a very short walk from the Walt Disney Museum proper and requires a separate (or add-on) admission. We didn't notice that until we arrived and I was put off at first. As soon as we entered the separate hall it was obvious that this was a significant exhibit and looking at the pricing now I think it is very fair. The Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall is beautiful and the exhibit is well laid out. Besides the impressive amount of artwork, there are listening stations and video displays and several clever and entertaining interactive exhibits. If The Jungle Book is one of your favorites you will love this experience. Also, the upstairs bathroom has one of the beautiful views ever. Be sure to enjoy a potty break while you are there. I want to add that the Walt Disney Family Museum itself is a really impressive and satisfying place. Even if you are no fan of the parks or what the company now represents, you only need a bit of nostalgia for the movies to enjoy a visit here. Several other reviews have noted that it is not geared for small children and I agree but on our first visit our kids were four and I assumed we would need to make it a quick visit but they were very engaged and there is plenty for some children to enjoy.
  • We absolutely loved this place it is so amazing. It has so much history that you didn't even know about Walt Disney. There are things about his early life his failings his successes. There's a lot of product memorabilia that is very fun to see. A lot of early photos drawings things about him working during World War II as a volunteer. I definitely recommend this place if you are a Disney fan it is much bigger than you think it is it took us 3 hours to go through this.
  • I visited the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco back in December 2019 for a vacation and had an absolutely fantastic time. The museum itself was incredibly intriguing and I was amazed by all of the information and artifacts on display. The front lawn area outside the museum was also a great place to explore and take in the gorgeous scenery. The chai served at the museum was amazing - definitely a highlight of my visit. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Walt Disney Family Museum. Not only did I have a great time exploring the museum and its grounds, but I also learned a lot about the life and work of Walt Disney. It was a truly memorable vacation experience and I'm already planning my next visit."
  • It you are into Disney and want to see how it all began this is the place. An in depth history of Walt Disney and his beginnings. So many videos, artifacts and some amazing displays. The enthusiastic and helpful staff will make this visit that much better.
