Kalahari Waterparks, Sandusky

Room prices are far too expensive for what you actually get. We booked a king suite w/ whirlpool bath. There was an electric fireplace in the room that didn’t work. The faucet on the bath tub felt like it was ready to fall off. The mini fridge looked like it had seen better days. You don’t get individual travel size samples of shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. - instead you get shampoo, conditioner and body wash in large pumps that they refill and that have been touched by previous renters which is kind of gross. The shower is small and outdated. The check-in process is all done via a computer once you get there which is fine but we had no idea where to go once we checked-in because it was our first time there and you don’t get to speak with anybody to direct you where to go - that being said, there were maps above the check-in computers but I didn’t notice them until we were checking out. After walking around for a bit we figured out the general layout. Everything is pretty costly if you buy anything there - $12 for a 16 oz drink that was just okay - but I assume cost is high because well the economy. The employees at the water park were nice though and they seemed to like to interact with guests which made it a fun experience. But sadly, when you pay $710 you kind of expect a little nicer room. Consider investing money back into your rooms.

We were blown away on how massive this place was! My kids had a lot of fun. The wave pool was one of the favorites! We were lucky enough to rent a cabana for one of our days and it was really worth it. We spent most of our day at the pool and it was nice to have a place to rest and take a break in a semi-private area. The restaurants were great as well! The Zoo was adorable! My kids LOVED feeding the animals. We bought the family sized bucket and it was really worth the money. We had more than enough for the 4 of us to use.

Great little family vacation that exceeded my expectations. Stayed 2 nights with my family of 6, with children ages 2 through 15. Lots of fun on the slides and in the wave pool. Food and cleanliness met our expectations. Arcade and claw machines made a nice break from the water. We plan to return!!

The room was very nice. Housekeeping didn't change towel the next morning. The whirlpool suite was very nice. Dispenser with shampoo, conditioner and body wash even though I used my own. Just thought it was a good design. The really liked my stay overall. Spa service for massage and pedicure was also really nice 👍.

The water park was awesome although a few attractions were closed. The pizza was really good. We rented a cabana and both of our servers were great. We stayed on site as well in a two room suite. The only thing that would really make an improvement would be better pillows and sheets. The pillows are really hard and lumpy and the sheets are really stiff and scratchy. I would maybe suggest bringing your own pillow and possibly sheets if you have sensitive skin. All the staff were very pleasant. The breakfast buffet and Italian restaurants were really good. The restaurant with the burgers and milkshakes wasn’t good at all. Don’t waste your money on it.
