Surround yourself with some of the world's most popular and colorful insects at Butterfly Wonderland, where you can get an up-close, interactive look at the winged wonders. Wander the rainforest-inspired pavilion--one of the largest in the country--and you'll see thousands of butterflies flitting around. If you're lucky, you may even have one land on you for a quick rest. Don't miss the emergence gallery, displaying chrysalises in the process of metamorphosis. In addition to butterflies, the center has several other types of residents. Stop by the honeybee exhibits to see a cross-sectioned, working hive of the industrious creatures, or marvel at exotic fish at the aquarium that features denizens of the Amazon River. • Great way to spend the afternoon. We stayed at the Talking Stick Resort. It is down the street from the resort.

  • This place is mind blowing! Great place to take family - they have some insanely beautiful butterfly & moth species here, as well as a pretty decent terrarium section. Make sure to say hi to the sting rays too. Walking out into the huge butterfly habitat was overwhelming- butterflies everywhere, all sorts, some even landing on you! In every nook & cranny, there are butterflies if you keep still and observe. It was a truly unique experience that I will never forget! I am so glad places like this are around- I feel even more appreciative of the beauty and diversity of our planet.
  • Very good experience. Nice 15 minute 3D movie on the Monarch butterfly. Got to walk around at your own pace looking at all the butterflies. Be careful where you step so you don't get one on the bottom of your shoe. There is also an amphibian exhibit area and small reptile area for the same price. I think it was worth the $24 entry fee. Better price than the other exhibits in the Arizona Boardwalk.
  • We went for a field trip for our school. I've never been before and was in awe of how beautiful this place is. It is so clean and well kept and the butterflies and all the little things you get to see and experience is amazing. I want to especially thank Dee and Autumn who made sure we were taken care of. Dee made accommodations for us and I can't thank her enough. The kids LOVED it and I truly felt like I was looking through the eyes of a child because it was such an amazing experience.
  • I love it here. It's absolutely breathtaking to see all the different species of beautiful butterflies and having them fly around you and land on you! There isn't one part I dislike. It's great for kids, families and even solo trips. I like going on my own and just taking my time in there. Highly recommended.
  • Excellent experience. The venue overall isn't large as a whole but the conservatory (the live exhibit) is amazing. Before entering the outdoor atrium there is a 3D educational documentary on monarch butterfly migration. It was beautiful and entertaining. My children loved it and have asked many questions since our visit about things they learned or saw there. The atrium as a whole was wonderful. It had Multiple places to sit and enjoy the dance of butterfly flight. The different butterflies seem to like their own areas of sanctuary, the corners were almost 10 degrees cooler. If your patient and stay still don't be surprised if one or two land on you for a break. The prices are decent but if you are the type who doesn't spend much time at a zoo when you go then I'd recommend doing a bundle with some of the other boardwalk attractions. We will return for another visit during our next trip to Scottsdale.
