Create an itinerary including Alki Beach
View the city skyline, glimpse orcas and sea lions offshore, and play beach volleyball at Alki Beach. Rent kayaks and paddleboards, ride a bike down the paved path, and roller-skate while you take in the views of the nearby mountain ranges. Eat and drink at one of the many nearby restaurants, or pack food to eat at the picnic tables. Street parking is available nearby, but it fills quickly--consider taking the ferry from the city and then the free shuttle bus to the beach instead. Plan your visit to Alki Beach and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Seattle trip planner.

  • Nice little stretch of beach to stroll along that offers great views of the water and a Seattle city view. We stopped for a bite to eat a great Mexican restaurant. Glad we visited.

  • One of Seattle's best beaches. Main strip has restaurants, coffee, bike rentals, and retail shops. Very cool neighborhood.
  • beautiful west facing sunset views on one side and then incredible views of all of downtown from the space needle to the stadiums. youll see tons of ferrys and other boats as they go between westside and the various islands alki is a very busy place on nice days/evenings in the summer. expect lots of cars cruising, and people on the beach, having fires, riding bicycles, scooters, roller bladers, runners, walkers ect .. if you head to the far end by the lighthouse there's barely anyone (thats where i prefer it 😊)
  • Alki Beach is one of those timeless places like you find on the big island in Hawaii and I'm sure all over the world. People go there for sun, surf, and sand. Across the street are several blocks of really good eateries. Parking in summer is nearly impossible. There are cabanas that you can reserve and you can reserve designated beach areas for your party. There are barbecues and volleyball poles ready to be used, as well as picnic tables and shelters. There's a public bathroom. It's just what you would expect of a gorgeous city beach. On summer weekends. It's really full. The view is awesome. Seattle is across the bay. Further east over the water is an outstanding restaurant, Salty's on Alki. Cactus is one of our favorites, with their fusion versions of Santa Fe cuisine on the west end. On the east end you will find Natalie's. It features smoothies and delightful Vietnamese food. I think we'll go there again next, but our friend wants to go to Salty's next. Alki Beach is one of several and it's a real Seattle treasure.
  • The beach is nice. It’s not huge, just decent sized. The water has a lot of seaweed so I’m not sure about swimming in it. I didn’t see anywhere to get food on the beach but just across the road from the beach, there are a bunch of restaurants. I have attached pictures of the restaurants below. Personally I’ll rather go to golden park beach than come here so I’ll recommend there over this.
  • Beautiful beach area with some areas of sandier beach, other areas more rocky. Volleyball is big in summer.
