  • A huge park that offers nice hiking trails. We went on "Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop Trail"- a two-hour walk through the forest and at the end you reach the sea and the lighthouse. The trail is well marked and easy to walk. The path is mostly flat but at some point there are stairs. Beautiful view of the sea. Near the parking lot of the park there is a nice visitor center with a children's playroom. Highly recommended.
  • I love this place, so many different trails and beautiful views! I parked at the South parking lot and there were plenty of spaces since I came on a weekday. It's about a 3 mile round trip hike to the lighthouse and back. Most of it is flat and good for beginners, though there's a good amount of stairs through the woods on the South beach trail part - but you get amazing peekaboo water views through the trees! That was my favorite part. There's also a cool beach and lighthouse at the end. I was totally blown away by all the sights. The trails are easily distinguished and there's lots of signage and some benches along the way. I went when it was dry, but I could see the path in the woods getting muddy and slippery after rainfall. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this trail! One of my favorites so far and a great way to relax.
  • A must visit park with beautiful views. There were a couple parking lots and various trails. We had a toddler with us and were able to walk the "moderate" trail to the beach and lighthouse. Seems to be dog friendly for trails but signs do not allow dogs on the beach. There is a beautiful light house you can walk to as well as parking closer to the beach. Highly recommend.
  • Loved it! Although the parking lot was full we only saw a few people. There are benches & picnic tables along the paths so you can sit and enjoy the view or just bask in the sun & silence. We sat overlooking the water and played a game of backgammon with a picnic lunch with beverages. The public restrooms are clean and well maintained. The drinking fountain even had a bowl down for your dog. Totally free this is a Beautiful Park that you could spend the whole day in and not see it all. Felt very safe for singles. A nice place to set up an easel and paint or take your sketchbook. I Highly Recommend!
  • Park offers a nice variation of wooded trails, paved paths, and stone/sand beachfront. Miles of possible loops to link if preferred, but a decent amount of shaded options. If you hike to the beach be prepared for muddy trails and some rather technical sections with stairs missing treads, and bridges at canted angles requiring some careful footwork. Beautiful vistas across the water. Definitely take 15 minutes to walk through the discovery center and look at the art displayed. Several great examples of art from around the US, and impressive panel work if significant size in the walls.
