Volunteer Park Conservatory, Seattle

An amazing little oasis! Went here with my mother, and it was so nice seeing her come alive and as gleeful as a child on snow day. The plants are beautiful, especially the cacti. Everyone there moved slowly, each eye investigating the ins and the outs of every plant. We were not rushed by anyone! It was very nice to be in an environment where it seemed everyone had something in common, some great thing of the earth, a seemingly effortless effort to preserve and to share that thing, that thread, that keepsake that is joy, tactile joy. I will carry that memory with me, as will my mother, and are a little closer to each other, and the earth, because of this conservatory. Thank you, thank you from our hearts!

Beautiful garden. Well worth the price of admission, $4 as of July 2022, especially considering free parking is abundant. Staff was extremely friendly and their passion for the work was obvious. Gift shop was very cute. Definitely will be back when in the Seattle area.

Pleasant spot to visit in Volunteer park. Pair it with a picnic or a visit to Asian Art Museum. Not a large place but lovely. Will take 20-60 minutes to take in depending on your level of botanical interest. Organized by plant classifications. Particularly enjoyed the cacti and succulents. Would benefit from a bench or two to sit and soak it in or sketch. Decent free street parking nearby. Several good restaurants within mile radius. Beautiful homes in the adjacent neighborhood. All invite a stroll after your visit to the conservatory.

What a beautiful place to see some tropical flowers and plants - YEAR LONG color and gorgeous old building/greenhouse. There is a small entry fee - and we visited when there was a great train display with poinsettias. Some nutcrackers too! Festive enough for Christmas Eve!

My husband and I popped in on a whim while walking through Volunteer Park, not expecting such an oasis! A beautiful place to visit with low-priced entry ($4 for adults). It's not huge, but there is a lot to take in in each of the rooms, which are divided by plant type, and you could easily spend an hour here. The gift shop is great and the staff is so friendly—we had the best time speaking with them. Their passion for their work is evident and infectious.
