Home to the area's largest sandstone arch, Devil's Bridge Trail offers visitors a chance to explore and experience rugged terrain without the strain of an intense hike. Lined with cacti, rock formations, and desert foliage, the trail provides the opportunity to hike to the top of its namesake arch as well as its shaded underside. Though the 2.9 km (1.8 mi) roundtrip hike from the trailhead is moderately difficult, it's fully paved and accessible to hikers of all levels and capabilities. Keep in mind that the arch itself is not fenced off, so exercise caution. • First of all, this is a beautiful hike. It took us a bit longer than we expected though. I had read it was about 1.8 miles but didn’t realize that was 1 way so we were not as prepared as we should have been. In total we walked about 4.5 miles. Bring water and snacks with you and you will be fine. We are pretty physically fit but being from Florida, we are not used to the elevation so we did have to sit down a take a few breaks. There are some areas especially towards the top where you have to do some steep steps up rocks to get to. People carrying kids or less physical endurance were struggling but it was doable. The end of the trail when you get to Devils Bridge was a victorious feeling beautiful. There was a line to take photos of you standing on the bridge. We waited about 20 minutes and decided to head back because there was no sense of urgency in these people taking pictures which was just kind of annoying to us and we were standing on the edge of a cliff waiting. Again, had we been better prepared with more water or a snack we may have had the patience to wait around.
  • Wonderful short hike (~1.8 miles one way) with an iconic land bridge at the end! Overall relatively easy trail with the last quarter mile being a little steeper, requiring some very light “bouldering”. Parking is limited within the lot at the trail head but there were plenty of spots on the road right outside of the lot entrance.
  • Really beautiful trail. Be prepared for crowds and a long wait for pictures. However, you can get nice views and pics without waiting in line! Moderately difficult hike with some scrambling towards the top of the hike.
  • This one has a steep incline. Lots of steps to reach the bridge. Usually they have long lines to walk over the bridge. We hiked in a snow clad day and didn’t find many people on the hike. It’s a tough hike and has a 1 mile walk to the hike. Take the 4x4 road to the bridge. I found this route easier. You do have options of renting a pink jeep. It’s a challenging hike and views in the end are rewarding!
  • We were sure to get to the trail early to beat the crowds. We went straight to the shuttle parking lot which was already full at 8 am. The hike was really good except for the section where you are essentially walking along a road to the trail head. We took the coveted picture on the bridge with only a 30 minute wait. We enjoyed the attitude of everyone waiting for take pictures. People were happy to take pictures for each other. Definitely worth the time, be sure to be early to avoid the crowds on the narrow section at the end.
