North Beach, South Haven

Spent a week at nearby B&B and several beach visits. The south beach has more space than the North but south there are a lot of private beaches and you don't know if you can at least walk along tge shoreline. The sand is fine grain, not sticky as it's freshwater, and very little plant remnants. Sweeped several times a week. Mostly families with young kids or retirees, no college takeover vibe. Very few restaurants near the beach so not a nightlife afe magnet.

Went two weeks ago for a spontaneous mini vacation, and this beach was absolutely magical by sunset. Weather was clear and crisp, around 70°F, too chilly for swimming, but that was okay by us! There was a riptide that day, too. Beach had flags clearly marking the water conditions. Wasn’t too crowded during the day, and by evening it was very secluded and peaceful. Can’t wait to come back again!

This is always one of the cleanest beaches we visit. The beach has a large area to relax or play games at. There is also restrooms, food, and refreshments near by. It is also fun to walk out to the lighthouse on the pier after dinner. The scenery at sundown is stunning and relaxing. Would recommend visiting

Nice place to go. We took the grandkids out for a day so they could play in the sand and the water, and they had a blast. We saw a lot of people, mostly kids play inspiration around having a good time. The beach was clean and that was probably the best part. It wasn't super crowded like it had been the last time which made it nice also.

Love this beach. It has a small rest area right behind the concession stand, and if you want to change after sunset, it will be closed. However, this beach location is much less crowded than South Beach, and you still can see the lighthouse, of course. The waves are a bit higher, because you're not protected by the pier, and the beach is about twice as long. It is rarely crowded.
