  • This is an interesting park with a bit of history. We like history and hiking, so it was a good combo. But the hike is fairly short to get to the tower. We ended up going on all the trails to hike...

  • We were driven from Peck's to put into the River at Tower Hill State Park . Nice landing. We took a detour on the River to paddle up Mill Creek to the Shot Tower. Interesting!

  • Great little state park that I'm guessing is very overlooked by many people given all the attractions near by. Course this little state park also has a very interesting attraction that you definitely don't see just anywhere, a shot making tower, which is very high up and has a tunnel at the bottom you can hike into and check out which is a very unique experience you don't find just anywhere. On the flip side though, it's not a very long hike but the shortest route requires a hike up hill to the top as well as stairs and the same is true for the second section from the top, and unfortunately the trail is currently closed from the second section to the bottom so you have to hike down to the bottom and around to see the tunnel or take the river if you have a canoe or kayak, but it's worth the trip I thought.
  • This is a really enjoyable experience. Moderate hiking trails with elevations that after a rain could prove to be difficult from washing away. Excellent scenery once getting to the top. The cave hike is worthy of the return hike up the hill. There is tent camping and a reservable enclosed pavilion, all of which would be an excellent way to spend a weekend here. No electricity or water is available at campsites but that should never be a deterrent.
  • Tower Hill State Park is a beautiful place to visit. It is nestled in the heart of Wisconsin's Driftless Area. Tower Hill overlooks the meandering Wisconsin River and has long been a popular site for picnics and bird watching. It is also a great place to explore the history of the area. Tower Hill is home to a shot tower, which was used to fire lead shot for hunting and fishing. The shot tower is about 30 feet tall and dates back to 1848. You can also take a short walk along the bluff, which overlooks the river. Some trails are closed and in disrepair. Camping. Kayaking. Fishing. Hiking.
  • Good place to spend 2 to 3 hours. It has a great history. Trails are short in total 1 to 1.3 miles. This place is not maintained well which is evident seeing parking lot. I visited during fall, so mosquitos were my company in the trial walk. Part from this, the place is calm and Limited camping places that needs reservation. If you are travelling long to visit this place, I would suggest to skip. I will not return to this place.
  • Excellent state park. The view from the top of the shot tower is beautiful and worth the hike. The hike up is not the easiest or nicest since the stairs are a bit uneven, but it's not really a big deal if you watch your footing. The tower itself is really neat and a great thing to get pictures. The one downside to the park when I went was the tunnel trail was closed for maintenance, but it gives me a reason to go back. Overall, very nice park and worth the experience.
