The history of National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios dates back to Europe's early settlers on what's now U.S. soil. Florida's first Spanish settlers founded the mission in the second half of the 16th century as the religious center and a way to spread the Christian faith among the local Native American tribes. The land, close to the spot where Pedro Menendez de Aviles landed in 1565--marked by a 62 m (204 ft) tall cross--now hosts several churches and shrines. You can enjoy the serene atmosphere, visit holy sites, the mission's museum, monuments, and historic landmarks. Donations are accepted. • A very pious and special place. Grounds are wonderful, the cross in the garden is amazing as are the chapels.

  • Good to see, expansive grounds for the area. More a spiritual experience, not breathtaking like St. Peters or Notre Dame.

  • Such a beautiful place for anyone to visit; the perfect spot to connect with your spiritual side and learn about important facts of the Catholic Church in Florida. The prayer garden is beautiful and very relaxing and the little shrine is amazing too. I attended daily mass there and the priest and community were incredible. Highly recommended.
  • Really peaceful park in the back of the property. It’s more of a graveyard and place to do various prayers, however it was quite gorgeous in the morning. Not a religious person myself so if you can ignore all the anti-abortion garbage they have set up out front, it’s a nice way to spend 30 minutes. I would recommend coming in the morning to watch the sun rise when it’s still cool outside.
  • The main church and gift shop areas. There is convenient parking and a trolley stop in-front. Bring your bike rack/bike as well since there are many paths to enjoy.
  • Beautiful and well kept shrine, no pics from the inside because there were peolpe praying that i didnt want to bother. The cemetary around the shrine is very nice too with all the information around. The area infront of it has free parking if you are visiting the shrine, cross or museum.
  • Great place to visit. Lots of history. Helpful staff throughout.
