World's Largest Cuckoo Clock, Sugarcreek

This was so cute. Even both of my kids enjoyed it. We arrived at 6:45 pm. Took some pictures with all the old items next door and enjoyed the beauty of the area. My 11yo son was bored and ready to leave until the clock hit 7:00 the clock goes off on the 30 and on the hour. It was so adorable to watch. Even he took a video. Everything was closed around it at this time. Wish we would have went earlier I was told there is a nice little diner right there.

I have to disagree with majority of reviewers. To put this in perspective, I’m in my 30s. It was pretty underwhelming to be honest. I guess a 15 minute drive is alright to see it but anything more than 30 minutes and you may be disappointed. Honestly, my wife and I enjoyed seeing the other things around town more than the clock itself. It’s just not a “big” as you may think it would be. We had arrived just after the 30 minute mark when it goes off so we returned 25 minutes later to see the next “show” Once the clock started with the music, my wife and I looked at each other and we walked away.. within 60 seconds. I absolutely adore the cuckoo clock and I'm so glad we got the opportunity to see and hear it. It is by far my favorite site to visit. It plays every hour and half hour. We arrived within minutes of it starting to chime/play and I was able to record it. The band comes out and they play polka music for about 3.5 minutes. Well worth the visit. We loved it so much we bought t-shirts of it. 😄

Sugar creek is a fun little town to visit it has the Worlds largest cuckoo clock, we did some sight seeing in this Amish community 🐴 The clock was Featured on the cover of the Guinness Book of World Records. The clock is over 23 feet tall and 24 feet wide. Every half hour, a cuckoo bird pops out and then you hear Swiss polka music playing as the band emerges and a couple dances. Sugarcreek is also known as the “little Switzerland” 🇨🇭

Definitely worth the ride. Beautiful country around here. We will have to come back when it's open. Sure was nice that someone saved it when the restaurant closed. I remember when it was the rooftop attraction.
