Tiger’s Eye Golf Links, one of Ocean Ridge Plantation’s crown jewels, is an upscale daily-fee 18-hole golf course carved from a virgin pine and hardwood forest in Sunset Beach, N.C.Using our custom trip planner, Sunset Beach attractions like Tiger's Eye Golf Links can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
Designed by master golf course architect and land planner Tim Cate, Tiger’s Eye® is one of four championship layouts at Ocean Ridge Plantation — Panther’s Run, Cate’s first solo effort, Lion’s Paw and the newest Big Cat, Leopard’s Chase®.
Tiger's Eye® has been recognized by several national golf publications as being among the best in the country. The course is consistently ranked among Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Public Golf Courses in America”. It is also Number 3 on Golf Digest's list of "Top 50 Courses in Myrtle Beach" and has earned 4 1/2 stars in their prestigious Places to Play 2006-2007 rankings. Tiger's Eye was also ranked No. 6 in North Carolina by Golfweek magazine.
Cate took advantage of the land’s natural setting, giving each hole its own unique personality and
The varying challenges of the greens mirror the classic look and feel of Pinehurst. The generous, undulated, fast-paced greens, which resemble warped plywood, yield numerous pin placements that are obscured from view and guarded by water and/or sand hazards.
The mature long leaf pine groves also add to the Pinehurst look of Tiger’s Eye®, but the mature, dense hardwood forest that lines the fairways and encircles the greens remind golfers that they’re in the Lowcountry.

Fun, but challenging course with wide fairways and lot of bunkers. Alot of wild life to see. Especially, the many different ponds that have alligators. I recommend keeping your ball in play!

A really beautiful golf course. Absolutely gorgeous clubhouse. Greens were a little damaged over the winter but the fairways and bunkers are in great shape. Beautiful views of water falls, creeks, ponds and even the occasional gator. Keep your food on your cart in a safe place or the birds will find it and help them selves. Even the squirrels are friendly and seem to be looking for handouts. Excellent value! Will do again soon!

What a difference 10 years makes. The first time I played this course it was one of the nicest around. Now, the course is in poor condition. Weeds, holes, bare patches on the fareway as well as the greens. There seem to be issues with the irrigation system. I don't know what is wrong but it is sad to see and I doubt I'll head back as there are so many great courses in the area.

They have a $9,000,000 club house on a $25 course. Greens are worst I have ever played on. Tee boxes in poor condition. Best part of the course was the rough ( hard to tell where they started and fairways ended)!

Played Tigers Eye today and was disappointed. Tee boxes in bad shape, many of the greens dying out with 2 that actually had large holes dug in them. Sand traps well maintained but fairways could use some work in many areas. Service was very good but course was not worth the cost. I am surprised those that live in the community have allowed this course to look so terrible. Will Play other local courses before heading back to Tigers Eye.
