In addition to various historical artifacts, the museum offers a selection of interactive exhibits and multimedia exhibits, many of which are especially suited for the youngest visitors. Take a break at the museum's cafe, where you can have a drink, a quick snack, or a full meal. Paid museum admission gives you access to the free parking area. What a great museum! Tampa's history certainly shines here! The exhibits are beautiful and the museum was so clean. I loved the videos on each floor and the interactive exhibits! Definitely a good option for a rainy day activity, especially since they have their own restaurant, too! Parking was a bit tough since they had so much of the street parking blocked off, but should be easier once the work is done.

I can't believe I forgot to post and review our visit last year. It was such an amazing day in downtown Tampa that I guess I paid more attention to the world around me than my cursed cell phone. Tampa Bay History Center is an excellent visit for the tourist and the locals. Nice exhibits and friendly staff. We were there for the Tusk to Tails exhibit and it was a very nice exhibit for sure. A little smaller than anticipated; but still a good one. Being a cigar enthusiast, I especially enjoyed the area detailing Tampa's and Ybor's "Cigar City" history. I highly encourage everyone to explore history, embrace it, don't cancel it. History is what defines us and has set us on the path in which we are living now. Lessons the younger generations really need to learn and understand without inserting the emotional non-researched opinions. Alas, I will leave the soapbox. Get downtown and explore Tampa, you won't be disappointed.

I spent the day in downtown Tampa with friends and we explored the Tampa Bay History Center. We learned about the Seminoles and also the history of cigar making in Tampa. There were a couple of short movies that were very interesting and many other things of interest on display. We enjoyed our tour and I’m sure you will too!

Let's chat..... On a rainy day maybe. Kinda boring. Not very interactive. Movies are okay. The pirate level is the best and the history museum's 1 Disney style movie experience. No dioramas. Some model planes. The elevator is kinda the coolest part.

This is a 4 story small to medium sized museum with the largest elevator I have ever seen in my life. The staff is super nice and will direct you and answer any questions you may have. Admission grants you a sticker in which you can go in and out as you please for the whole day. The gift shop is on the second floor as well as a restaurant/bar. Gift shop was pretty cool, mostly the same things you will see in gift shops. There are a couple of theaters with featured shows that plays continuously. I love history, so I enjoyed the museum. There was a lot of focus on Florida history however and not Tampa specifically. Good for families and children.
