The Cuban Sandwich was originally called the “mixto-ham, roast pork, swiss cheese, mustard – and made for Ybor City cigar workers” Sicilians and immigrants from other parts of Italy joined Spanish and Cuban immigrants in the cigar factories, and Genoa salami was added, transforming the “mixto” into the Cuban Sandwich. But it is the bread from La Segunda Central Bakery that makes an authentic Cuban Sandwich.

We experience this great tasting sandwich along with introducing you to other iconic foods of Ybor City from 5-7 restaurants, which help make this a mouth-watering tour.

Our guide was extremely informative and friendly. I think her name was Crissy. The tour was supposed to be 3 hours, but ended up taking about 3 1/2 - 3 3/4 hours, due to delays in the restaurants..... more
