  • We learned a lot about the Columbia River and why the dam is so important. A very interesting visit and a lot of it was thanks to the employee on duty - thank to Travis?

  • Very nice place to stop. The lady inside was very nice and informative. Has a great shaded area next to it for walking dogs And letting kids run off energy.

  • This wasn't a long stop, but had a lot to offer. If you go, know that the entrance may seem odd. Don't let the security booth fool you - you're in the right place. The multi-level visitor center...

  • Such a beautiful stop right off the highway. Bring your binoculars. I have spotted bald eagles!!
  • Great viewing point upon the The Dalles Dam. Short trail to walk to an excellent view poi t on the river bank just opposite to the Dam
  • Fascinating details about the dam history and operations. However, the tour is currently not operating and the displays are average for this type of experience. But the in-person, impromptu presentation by the ranger made the difference. Without her, I'd rate it 3 stars.
  • Open or closed it is a nice stop to take some photos
  • Nice visitor's center to learn all about the dam's history. Had a nice interactive tour to explore at our own pace with helpful staff for any questions that comes up. Also had some great booklets and free flyers to help ensure those family vacation plans stay safe and fun this year! Unfortunately, no tours of the actual dam at this time here. But there's a few other nearby options for families that really want that experience!
