Lake Shawnee, Topeka

We are so lucky to have this lake. Most beautiful flowers. Great fishing. Paddle boating. Fun playgrounds. And wide paths for biking and walking. Has public grills and picnic areas. And fun camping area. Took my daughter to get her prom pictures. Beautiful ❤️

The Ted Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee are beautiful. Nice sidewalks meander through the flower gardens overlooking the lake. There are several benches to rest on, or just to enjoy the view. There are also statues, fountains, and other interesting features. The convenient parking lot and bathrooms are nice.

It's beautiful. Camp grounds expensive for it being off season. Plus the rules are a bit over the top.

This park is a beautiful place to go. The flowers and trees are amazing. There are a lot of picnic table to be enjoyed, ducks and geese, as well as many other birds. Docks to walk on or fish from. And a huge walking/ biking trail that goes completely around the lake. I think the trail is 6 miles. I love looking at the flowers, they smell so good. We have picniced in the are a few times and walked the trail. Once we were picnicking and doing homework when we saw a group of baby ducks, they were so adorable.

Love the Lake. But lock your car up and keep watch of it. Lots of break ins. Also watch out for neighbors cars. Keep lake Shawnee safe!
