Caldwell Zoo houses more than 3,400 animals in six distinct habitats. At this 34 ha (85 acre) site, roam around an African savanna filled with lions, zebras, elephants, and giraffes. See native animals of the Americas, such as bison, eagles, and bears from North America, and macaws, giant anteaters, and large rodents from South America. Look for the aquarium that hosts an array of fish, tortoises, and penguins from Africa, and check out the herpetarium--home to snakes, lizards, frogs, and giant tarantulas. Listen to the local parakeets, and feed the free-flying cockatiels a handful of snacks. Put Caldwell Zoo at the forefront of your travel plans using our Tyler road trip app.

Nice size zoo, we stayed about and hour & 1/2. The kids enjoyed themselves looking at all of the animals. We will definitely return.

This a a beautiful zoo. It's a nice place to get your exercise while observing animal antics. They have a good annual membership price for those who like to come often.

We have visited many zoos across the US including San Diego and the National Zoo in DC and we LOVED the Caldwell zoo. It’s the perfect size - all exhibits are very accessible in a single trip. We enjoyed seeing the animals up close (feeding the giraffes is amazing!) and were able to spend enough time in each section to see the animals go about their routines. The bird feeding area is lovely. Seeing all those colorful birds flit about is sure to bring a smile to your face. This is a fantastic place for kids of all ages (we saw so many families with young kids).

This zoo was a great place to take my family. It is not too large but big enough to have lots of animals with plenty of space them to not be crammed. My girls loved feeding the giraffes as bell as the birds. The Cafe is poised in a good spot to eat and view the giraffes 🦒 and elephants 🐘. My family loves to visit zoos of all sizes around the country and this one is a top performer for the smaller zoos. Will be back in the future for sure

Beautiful zoo! Very well kept. We were able to get through the zoo (adults without kids) in 2 hours. I liked how to at this zoo the views of the animals were up close and the way the enclosures are designed gives good viewings of the animals (vs at some zoos it's really difficult to see/find the animals). There's a nice area to sit (and eat) that overlooks the giraffe and elephant area. Would definitely come by again when in the area.

The vision of this place is wonderful. It's as if you were truly in their element. I loved it and will hopefully get to go again soon. They do have a very nice food court with options for all. The gift shop is very nice as well. Over all, very well kept and the animals are thankful as well.

This is the second year (not subsequent years) that we have bought a family yearly membership pass. It has not disappointed. We like to go here during the week throughout the different seasons. The staff are very friendly and eager to talk especially if it is not a busy time. The garden areas are immaculately maintained and the animals seem content and healthy. We’ve had the lions, tigers, lizards, elephants, otters and giraffes entertain us with their antics. The last time we were there, we noticed that the zoo was expanding and renovating. We look forward to even better displays/habitats for the animals.
