We visited Valley Forge the week after Christmas and there was still some damaged roads from flooding from a past hurricane. Also, there was construction around the arch but we were able to drive...

I visited the National Memorial Arch in December 2021 as part of my visit to Valley Forge National Historical Park and my self-guided driving tour with nine stops. It is a great photo opportunity.

If you want to take in the whole site, including reading the info kiosks and want to learn all about the Arch, plan a minimum of 1 hour. A wonderful place for a picnic. Nice grounds and shady trees. Built by the Masons in 1917 this Arch is magnificent. The detail of the masonry work is inspiring. There is plenty of parking on the backside. There are many historical kiosks/markers that give many details about the Arch referencing the Archs purpose and information about the immediate surrounding area.

This is a monument to the sacrifice the soldiers made during the revolutionary war and it certain conveys that significance through its grandeur and size. The inside is engraved with a message in tribute to the soldiers and the names of the leaders of the revolutionary army. Convenient access to the arch is available with a dedicated parking spot.

Very beautiful and historic place. Great place to take a fun photoshoot with a friend or to enjoy and wonderful walk in the park.

Spectacular! Great piece of history in my neighborhood. If you live in PA and you haven’t been, you’re missing out!
-
Great park - usually park near the arch if walking the outer, paved trail. About 1.5 hour circuit walking and great on a pleasant day. A few bathrooms along the way too - at least four strategically distanced for those post coffee walks. Also great place to run all year long .... or Nordic ski during the right winter conditions.
