  • Growing up in Vancouver in the 60s, I was aware of the WWII shipyard and some of the history. This site really brings it to life. It is well maintained and the historical placards are extremely...

  • Nice observation tower and informational plaques at the site of the old WW2 shipyards. Took my mom because her parents worked there during the war. Tower is next to a boat ramp, so the parking charge is exorbitant ($10), and there is some graffiti and other damage to the top level of the tower. Convenient restroom at the base of the tower.
  • This is a go to chill spot for me...along with my kiddos. BUT there is always so much broken glass everywhere. Bring water shoes for sure. Sand is more like small pebbles. It's most likely pretty polluted from the boats and being in the city; even still, I love the vibe. There's been a lot of street car racing around, so just be aware. There's a fun 3-story lookout to take in the view from Vancouver to Portland. If you've been to Seattle and experienced the Gum Wall, you'll enjoy this slowly growing "Lock" fencing at the top of the tower. Leave one if u can. :) You'll see lots of huge ships hauling goods, tugboats, and people enjoying water sports. Lots of trees for shade. BUT, BEWARE mosquitoes can get terrible when the sun starts to fade. Worth checking out for sure! Enjoy!
  • The beach has rocks and it sucks to go swimming. wear swimming shoes if you go here! Short walk to the beach, great view, boat ramp. Pretty quiet.
  • Park is ok, feels like lately park seems more over grown and not as pretty as it once was. The boat ramp is a nice spot to view the river .
  • Needs a little clean up. And People ate illegally living on the docks which makes it hard to enjoy when homeless People are watching you and also begging for any and everything we could give to them. But overall very beautiful park and river
