Sun Valley Farm, Versailles

We had a wonderful time touring the farm and meeting the foals (and the barn kitties!). The scenery was beautiful and the tour was interesting and informative. Jan at the end was especially helpful answering all our questions, and overall we had a terrific time. Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about Kentucky's horse history!

WE HAD THE BEST TIME! Jan, Brett and Barry were so informative, kind, and their love for the horses and the farm are so obvious. The babies and mares were so sweet!!! We had a great lunch on the patio.

Sun Valley Farm Tour was the highlight of our two day trip to KY to take a couple of bourbon distillery tours. We had made no plans to see the horses, and when I called at the last minute to see if a tour was available, Jan got us in without reservations or paying right then. The tour began with a roundup of the mares from the pasture. Most were cooperative, but four of the mares were enjoying the 35 degree windy temperatures, and it took four of the hands to bring them into the barn. Then we went to the nursery and petted both mamas and babies. It was delightful. We had a large group of 30, but Brett and Jan did a great job providing all of us an opportunity to get close to these exquisite animals. Brett was extremely informative and funny. If it wasn't his passion for thoroughbreds, he could be a stand up comedian. If you love racing, or horses, this tour is perfect for you

Thank you Brett and Sun Valley Farm for the personalized and hands-on visit with your sweet mamas and babies. My grand daughters 5 and 7 along with the adults were entranced with the stories and facts and absolutely loved the hugs, kisses and nuzzles from the foals and their mamas. Getting to know the horses, their histories and personalities was an experience we will always cherish. This family owned farm is truly a gem and an excellent example of Kentucky Bluegrass pride. Brett shared his extensive knowledge with humor and obvious love for all of Sun Valley’s tenants from the barn cats to the stakes winning Thoroughbreds. We look forward to following the foals as they grow and begin their horse racing journey.

This was a wonderful, worthwhile tour! We took our 5 yr old grand daughter and she hasn’t stop talking about it! Jan and her son Brett did a excellent job of explaining how these beautiful horses are cared for on the farm. It is a beautiful setting in the center of horse country! We are planning on returning in the spring. Highly recommend!
