WinStar Farm, Versailles

Not a lot of farms in the Lexington area are open in February and we didn’t have a lot of options to see very many. I stumbled across WinStar while trying to book tours for my family and we were all pleasantly surprised how informative and fun it was. The tour guide who is from South Africa was great! She was full of energy, informed, and out going. She’s proud to be a part of the farm and she seemed to genuinely love the relationships she had with the horses. I would recommend making a stop here. It was nice to hear about the stallion aspect of breeding. My only complaint about this tour was that it only takes place at one barn. You don’t get the opportunity to see what the grounds of the farm looks like. ***This tour paired well with the tour at Mill Ridge which goes in-depth of the mare side.

Loved this place! They took you through the barns and answered all your questions. You got a complete your in a shuttle of the whole farm. Got to meet and greet one of the Stallions up close and personal. Viewed all the rest in their stalls. Great place to visit and see some well cared for racehorses.
