The Tomato Place, Vicksburg

I enjoy eating here. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly. My daughter loves their tomato sandwiches and lemonade. You can buy fresh produce, hot sauce, coffee, little souvenirs, plants and fresh bread. They have smoothies you pick out that they blend for you. I find them too sweet but everyone's taste is different. I love their catfish poboys. Their tarter sauce is perfect on it. There are all sorts of places to sit. The atmosphere is quite the experience. I recommend coming and sitting for a spell and taking in the environment.

My husband and I stopped at The Tomato Place on our way ay through Vicksburg. Only about 3 miles off offer Highway 20. We split a tuna melt with tomatoes and each had an avocado salad. The house dressing was great and the avocados ripe. The tuna melt was fantastic with huge juicy slices of tomatoes. And the toasted Pumpernickel bread made the sandwich. I also bought some tomatoes and yellow squash to take home as they were all so ripe.

This place was recommended to us by my mother-in-law. It's located just south of Vicksburg. My MIL said that we needed to stop there and get a fresh squeezed lemonade. Well, we did and ended up leaving with more. The employees (may have been some of the owners too, i dont know) there were very nice, courteous and helpful. Looking around, we discovered the business offered fresh fruits, vegetables, and frozen protein drinks along with a limited item menu for lunches. After looking around, we ended up with 2 lemonades (freshly squeezed), 2 flats of strawberries, a watermelon, and a pineapple. My wife has eaten a half of one of the flats in 3 days. LoL. I highly recommend this place if you are passing through or live close for a day trip. Hopefully, we can try the plate lunch on our next trip.

It's been many many years since I visited back home. Words do not do justice for The Tomato Place. The atmosphere is welcoming, the people friendly, the variety of goods and food is great, the food is delicious and well-made! I'm going to miss this particular place when I have to leave again.

If yall are ever driving through Vicksburg and want an amazing experience ... Go here ! ...the food the people the atmosphere...brining home tomatoes and bbq sauce! And had a fresh smoothie with thier "recipe" of sweetness Not pictured Salad Dressing ... Bought that too! And Breads that they make ..our sandwiches which are on them are buy one get one free loaves of bread and homemade bagels!!! I had a fried green tomato Blt on their wheat ... And James had a smoked burger with bbq sauce and their homemade rolls
