Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts
Encompassing more than 53 ha (130 acres), Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts features amphitheaters that host musicals, dance, opera, and jazz performances. More than half of the area is undeveloped, with woodlands, wetlands, streams, and wildlife. Join a performance at the indoor/outdoor theater, which can host 7,000 guests across its seats and lawns. Visit a 382-seat venue in an 18th-century barn or a children's theater in the woods. You can also search for deer, foxes, groundhogs, and raccoons, and observe more than 120 species of birds. Be sure to dress comfortably, as most activities happen outdoors. This is an updated review....I recently had a less than satisfactory experience at The Barns. I explained the situation about my displeasure with the usher/warden and the inconsistency of policies...

Wolf trap is a great venue that has a nice intimate feel with a good size lawn and plenty of seating if desired. They best thing is that the venue offers a wide array of performers so chances are you will find something you like. We recently came to watch Black Violin which was amazing and I highly recommend. The venue staff is very helpful and super friendly. One of the best parts here is that parking is free and you can get in and out multiple ways so no huge delays which is really great. We sat in the pavilion section in one of the “box seats” which provided great views and easy access. Definitely will be looking for more chances to visit again soon.

Excellent venue for music. Lawn area great for lounging, picnic and being more social. Seats are good too. Heads up to drink alcohol in the seated area you have to purchase a wolf trap sippy cup. Well played wolf trap. Staff is very helpful. And the venue is gorgeous. PS - Jackson brown was awesome. His band is awesome and he sounds his like he did 50 years ago. PPS - shout out to my friend Dave U. for hooking me up with the ticket!

Convenient location with HORRENDOUS TRAFFIC! It took us over an hour to get off of the property after the show due to poor traffic planning. The parking lot was for handicapped and pass holders; general parking was on the grass. There were attendants assisting on arrival; however when the show let out there was no one so cars were attempting to cut in wherever they could. All lanes on the grass filtered into one line. This resulted in a 50 minute standstill. The venue should create lanes/rows with string or cones, the way it is done at fairgrounds and similar venues so that vehicles have specified routes and traffic flows more smoothly. Great view from Box 38 and the ushers were very welcoming. They showed us to our seat. Foot traffic entering and exiting the boxes flowed smoothly. Fantasia put on an AMAZING show as she does every time! Leela James did great as well.

Excellent venue for concerts. Music sounded great way in the back. Took our lawn chairs, ice chest and a blanket. You can bring in your own food and drink!! A lot of friendly personnel around in case you need anything. Definitely reccomend !!

We came here for a walk in December while there was no performance going on. The trail nearby the stage was very nice, and there was another smaller outdoor stage inside the trail. If visitors happen to come here to see a show, then taking a walk around this space might be a good idea.
