  • Not cool that you've acquiesced to 2nd home out of state home owners and closed the gate and park to life time westerly residents who've enjoy the wall for decades without incident... sad times when.....  more

  • Beware!!! $150 parking fine. It is a narrow 1 car lane walking path through a private neighborhood to get to the lighthouse. Non residential cars are not allowed in though we did see cars parked once....  more

  • The Watch Hill Lighthouse is a classic old lighthouse that separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Bay. Some go to fish but I have no idea what they catch. I’ve seen people paint and take...

  • You cannot walk close to the lighthouse for photos and the house blocks the view of the lighthouse, so if you’re looking for a photo opportunity it’s not great. The grass field is fun to throw frisbees or relax. There is a road to the lighthouse, the line says for only over age 65yrs, however, it is low season, not busy, so drive there. Or if you want exercise, it’s a nice walk. Watch the sunset, beautiful.
  • It’s a nice little walk down from town to the lighthouse but unfortunately you cannot see it close up as it’s fenced off at quite a distance. The current lighthouse was built with granite blocks in 1808 and automated in 1968.
  • Very cool to look at. Wish you could tour it. Can only park near it if you’re a senior or disabled.
  • My favorite place to visit @ Watch hill in Westerly. People who are 65yrs and handicap are allowed to drive through the rest of us have to walk and it's short walk with spectacular homes along the narrow road and wide open where the lighthouse is located. I was given a tour inside and got educational about lighthouse. The view all the around was absolutely stunning. 😍 This is my 2nd visit here. Definitely a must see the tour is free so is parking. Bring your water bottle with you. There are no bathroom. So closes to bathroom short within minutes to town.
  • The lighthouse is now private property, but you can still walk or drive up close enough to see it from the back. The beautiful part was watching the ocean crashing up against the rocky shoreline and experiencing the sounds and smells!
