Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum, Waterloo

Very nice museum. Covers all wars and development of Waterloo. Lots of reading but lots of great displays for the younger crowd. Took my 8 and 9 year old grandkids they had a good time. We spent 3 hours and also enjoyed a very good planetarium program.

I can't recommend this place enough!!!! We are definitely going back! You definitely need at least 2-3 days at minimum if you want to take enough time to view and read everything. There is sooooo much!!! I would say it is definitely worth getting a membership for so you can go back whenever you want.

This is the best Iowa Museum; full of information about the Iowa military branches, Sullivan Brothers and Iowa history. It also has 2-3 yearly rotating exhibits. The Voices of Iowa Oral history program, which gathers interviews from Iowans with all different backgrounds and showcases them, is my favorite part!

I attended a Black Hawk County Historical Society meeting. I believe I said that correctly, the Sullivan Brothers were the main topic with guest speaker Kelly Sullivan. It's an emotional story but an interesting story. The Grout Museum District is made up of four museums I'm sure I'll find more events that I would like to attend

This was my first time traveling to this location and found it very interesting. The museum was large and had countless artifacts, photographs, and posters. Each time period had its own categorized section which made everything neatly organized. All items in the facility tell its own unique history!
