  • I rode a E-Bike from Morristown to Elysian and back with a stop at Sakatah State Park for some information. Very helpful attendant, answered my questions.

  • This park is better than expected. Nice lake area and has a good wooded campground for a smaller park. Very nice big woods scenery throughout. Not much for trails being a smaller park but the ones they have are nice . Has a nice bike path. Park would be exceptional if it had a swim beach and better day use area. Road noise is a constant being small and close to the main highway.
  • I can't rate how the camp sites are. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The park is pretty simple. Quite a few campsites. A couple trails. The dock wasn't at the fishing pier. The trails are well marked. There was nothing very interesting or special to see or do. If you just want a camp site I'm sure it's fine. I have been to many state parks that offer more interesting terrain and more things to see and do. There are some canoes and kayaks and such you can rent.
  • Drove down for an overnight at the campground in July. The site was small but nicely shaded and all the trees made it feel very private. Some noise from the highway but nothing too annoying. The campground is expansive and we had a nice walk with the dog to watch the sunset on the water. Such a nice little trip from the twin cities, can't wait to come back to use the bike only camp sites!
  • Beautiful campground, very shaded, and large sites for almost any size rig. Good hiking trails and easy access to the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail. This trail is a paved, 39 mile multiple-use trail which has been developed on an abandoned railroad grade.
  • This place was rich with mushrooms! Trails were pretty wide and groomed. A couple sections got a little confusing where to go to next, but overall pretty happy here. Park Ranger was super friendly and knowledgeable.
