Surfari Joe's Indoor Wilderness Water Park, Watervliet

I was super hesitant after reading a lot of pretty bad reviews but here's the facts, based on our experience in August 2018 on a Saturday: 1. Plenty of towels UNTIL approx 3pm. See photo of empty towel rack at 330 2. Water was indeed cool in the slide half. Too cold for me but we were there so our 11 and 13 year old could have fun and they didnt complain. 3. Water on the baby half was really nice and warm. We all played in it for a while. My sons really had a blast. 4. I agree that the hot tub wasn't super hot. 5. I am HAPPY kids aren't allowed in hot tub. Kids get to play in the entire place, let the adults have 8 feet of peace. 6. Kids loved the slides. Even hubby went down a bunch of times. 7. There is NOT food. they told us we are welcome to bring our own and eat upstairs. Theres a subway and taco bell right across the street! What could be better than taco bell IN a water park?! 8. All of the games worked. They did run out of tickets while we were playing 9. Staff was super nice. 10. There were several lifeguards plus front desk staff. They were all attentive. We did see a guard jump in the water to help a child and the female guard even gave my son a push to get him going fast down the lazy river. I thought this was super cool. 11. Bathrooms were fine. 12. No problem getting a locker. 13. I would absolutely go back.

The staff is absolutely friendly. The water park is amazing and well-kept. Everything is the best I could have ever hoped for and I've got a lot of experiences with indoor water parks

Used Groupon & saved some money. Enjoyed the very warm water but was way too many people to stay longer. Tubes for slide should be kept out of lazy river as it's not wide enough to just be "lazy". Idk how many times my 9 y/o got her head rammed into wall so we just dodged the tubes. There's not really any seating around the water area & only like 2 lifeguards on duty. When towels are available, they go fast...bring your own!

We took our grandkids to this indoor water park during spring break. It doesn't have as many slides and water toys as the big guys but we still had some complaints from the backseaters when we headed home after 4 hours.
