Westerly Library & Wilcox Park, Westerly

A notable and fascinating gem in the heart of downtown Westerly completed in 1894. Inside you'll find wonderful resources and a variety of history regarding the origins of both industry and commerce within Westerly. On the northern perimeter of the library lies the beautifully designed, manicured and maintained exterior grounds of Wilcox Park providing respite and splendor, with highlights including a dramatic fountain and mature garden beds, all complimenting the property.

Stunning gargantuan small town library, lovely grounds, great cafe on ground floor. Very welcoming librarians. Free wifi of course. Private rooms you can reserve.

Love both the library and park. They are owned by a private non profit organization. It is very generous with the Town, allowing wonderful events like summer concerts and plays in the park, and exhibitions of local artists and talks with local writers. Plus many children and teen activities. We are so fortunate! Please donate if you are able!

The library is wonderful as always. So much more than books! I attended the regional history fair on Sept 14 where about 20 local historical societies and museums had exhibits. Great turnout!

Westerly Library is a beautiful building with stunning 19th century architecture, and an amazing gallery space, the Hoxie Gallery. Local artists are featured in this bright, open space each month. Be prepared for two-hour metered parking on the street. There is a free parking lot within walking distance, and a parking garage for a fee. The library is adjacent to a beautiful park and across the street from the Pizza Place that makes the best tuna grinder I’ve ever had – SO good! Take a stroll down Main street after lunch and enjoy a nice day in New England!
