The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs

This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it. An elegant and inviting hotel with a warm & friendly home feel! Everything was superb! All the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and very welcoming! Beautiful decor and interior spaces. The landscaping is fantastic! Every excursion/ experience we had was memorable! What a hidden gem!

What a wonderful getaway! This place was so much fun! There is no shortage of things to do, places to explore, and history to learn. The onsight restaurants were wonderful and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. The bunker tour was so interesting, the falconry class was super cool, and the escapes rooms were exciting! The only thing I was not impressed with was the quality of the movie theater. Other than that, our stay was perfect. I am definitely planning on coming back some time.

It's lovely & nostalgic for me. While still opulent and beautiful, it is not what it used to be. Overall, it was fine - the food was very good, as were the drinks. It was small things like peeling wallpaper, dingy paint, and scuff marks. They were doing repairs without privacy screens - that never would have happened before. The service was not bad, but certainly not what one would expect at the Greenbrier. I could tell which staff had been trained in the old way. The mystery is gone - the service personnel were loud & definitely not demure as in the past. One of the bartenders seemed almost put out that we asked for a mint julep. We had a minor issue at the spa, and the staff there was diligent and made acceptable accommodations for the situation.

Excellent stay. The staff was so professional yet welcoming and kind. They made sure that our stay was up to par and go above and beyond our expectations. I felt like royalty! Great value for what you get. We also did the bunker tour which had such rich history. Admissions was $40 for 19 years old and above. Our tour guide, Kate, was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny- she made our experience that more interesting. Unfortunately, there are no pictures allowed but it’s something you’ll have to see for yourself!

One of many visits over 40 years and has always been a great trip until this past week. Shuttle service stopped at 5:00 p.m. Pool closed at 6:00 p.m. We requested room service for the grand kids. Warned us it would be an hour wait but we ordered anyway. Room service came 2 hours and 15 minutes later. Grand kids were asleep. Arrived at check-in sent to our room with 2 queen beds requested when I made the reservation. Room had 2 double beds. Did note a dirty wine glass with wine still present on the bedside table, not that big of a deal but you wonder how well the room was cleaned. I called the front desk and they assured me that they would find a room with 2 queen beds. They did, but it was 2 hours later. I did not rate it a 2 star for sentimental reasons. I had many great visits there in the past. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end. Thank you.
